Procedure for Professional Training Course Applicants, Students, & Graduates for joining the Association of Systematic Kinesiology
as Professional Members
1. The Association of Systematic Kinesiology (A.S.K.) is a registered charity. It is a professional body
run by Trustees who are graduates, to promote Kinesiology, maintain the practitioner list, and take care of professional Kinesiologists. Upon your acceptance on the T.A.S.K. Professional Training Course, you are required to be invested as an Associate Member of A.S.K.
Application forms can be requested from A.S.K. or will be available at Orientation, although we do advise students to arrange membership
before the start of the Practitioners Course. Undergraduates may use the term “Kinesiology” either alone, or together with another
discipline, i.e. “Reflexology and Kinesiology”.
2. Upon acceptance, or before, the student is required to be insured for activities
in the health field covering all aspects and modalities of their work. If previously insured for professional work, please contact
your insurers, to ensure that the terms of their policy includes your working with Kinesiology, as seeing clients for a fee is part
of the Course structure. If you are now insured, please ensure that you enclose a photocopy of your insurance document with
your application
If you are not currently insured, we have done a lot of research to find the most comprehensive and safest wording
of the policies for its members who take advantage of the group scheme. The cheapest is not always best in the world of insurance. When it comes to a claim, if ever that is necessary, and of course we hope that it never would, will an Insurance company try to wriggle
out of any responsibility, or will it back your claim, even in the courts if necessary? It may pay you to check the wording, what
you are covered for, and the cost.
We are satisfied that the wording of the policy organised by Messrs Balen of 31, Croft Bank,
West Malvern, Worcs. WR14 6DU, Telephone 01684 893006 Fax: 01684 893416 is the best technical policy wording available. It has been
checked out by our own experts, and is a very reasonable price because of our Association’s special group terms with them.
Messrs.
Balen have satisfied themselves and the Underwriters, that the basic training in Systematic Kinesiology given by T.A.S.K. is
sufficiently thorough, safe and non-invasive, that they have agreed to insure practitioners who are still under training to practice
on clients for free. The policy they offer can be used to cover you for every branch and modality of health care practice and
upgrading to Professional membership. Their terms and wording of the documents may be better than your current policy.
3 .Undergraduates
are required to remain a Member in good standing with the Association for as long as they practice or teach Kinesiology. Upon
passing the assessment, their names will then appear in the A.S.K. Professional Register, and for each following year. They
may use initials “Cert A.S.K. mem. A.S.K.” in any professional literature until graduation.
4.Graduates may use the term “Registered
Kinesiologist. Cert A.S.K.” (which stands for Certificate in Advanced Systematic Kinesiology). Graduates who go on to take the Diploma
and achieve Diplomat status may use “Dip. A.S.K.”, which stands for Diploma in Advanced Systematic Kinesiology on their professional
literature and advertisements. ‘Click here to go to A.S.K.’s website’.
